ERI was founded in 2002 and when Shegerian, took over five years ago, he said they recycled about 10,000 pounds a month of e-waste. It was exactly thirty years ago when my new son was born at the K.K. maternity hospital in Singapore. My wife smiled at me and informed me with a smile, “You are a father, now”.

How do I felt?: nothing except my head was a little overwhelmed with the new idea of being a father. "I am a new father now" as i told myself many times, yet no big emotion uplift seem to come: neither joy nor sadness!

I was walking all the way towards the Old Peace Center. When i crossed the side road, an uniform policeman was waiting for ME as he stopped me. He simply asked for my I/C without any explanation or given any good reason. I refused, though i just told him my true particulars were such and such, however still refusing to surrender my I/C. He called for assistance (a police land rover) to bring the major culprite to the Police station. It seemed like a major criminal waiting to be transported according to my own fears!. A senior officer (ASP) told me it was an offence for crossing the road when NOT using the provided “overhead” safety-concerned --white elephant-- bridge linking the two buildings complex at that location.

At the station (Tanglin Police quarters) I explained it was my oversight and that perhaps too, i was new to the place since I just returned home from the west (Canada) after so many years of absence. Besides I said to him..

That day “ I had became a new father”, and I was walking under the bridge without being aware of the fact. He asked me to sent him a letter and told me to go (home) with any other bother. BTW he was kind enough to assure me it was okay *(excusable). That’s how I remember my first time fatherhood experience.

Over the years (my son & me) we seemed to develop a special bond. Yes i must admit my bonding with my son had been a source of comfort and strength. In fact my son still lived here in our home, and never dream of leaving even though he had graduated from NUS and had done his N.S. service to the Country, and even briefly went to the States for his work and training. We have an unbreakable father cum son bond.

Balancing the budget? hehehe over the past it look like it(totally un-balanced to the surpluses!), now perhaps better, so can we get ride of the opposition? That's a very important question to think through. We are still taxed to the limits that most of us cannot afford, or hardly or barely able to survive! Why cannot we use some of the benefits to enhance the lives of our ppl and lighten their tax burdens? We already have in place the GST ERPs, High road and property taxes, and when we buy a new car it's $20K -30K COE levy(or privilege to drive a car!), besides what else the garmen cannot imagine to tax us? It's already overloading as it is..

Your HDB flat' ...Can you afford it?, none of the common ppl can, unless one has cash ready or a rich benefactor to help out. The low cost housing already subsided by garmen is beyond our pockets and CPF savings, unless we are rich like those who can afford 30K or more for daily pocket money! Imagine a flat with 4 rooms for a sum 250K or more depending on the area and it's only affordable via garmen rentals or lease.

Balancing the budget? hehehe over the past it look like it(totally un-balanced to the surpluses!), now perhaps better, so can we get ride of the opposition?
