[edit] Liar!

I saw the old story of Independence Day movie. The American President was straight facing his dying wife. She was badly hurted during a helicopter crash and dying. The President husband was asked by the dying first Lady: Honey What did the doctor said? President half blinking and smile: "Honey, the doctor said U r going to be Okey !" First Lady smiled and said: "Liar" and cried..before she bid a final good -bye! Just a great American movie and a great made-relief !

[edit] The Most Important Event in History

How could an old event changed the whole course of History of mankind and still remained as effective to change people's lives as much as it did 1,974 years ago? Yes, it is Good Friday and Easter - an event known to us Christians as the death and resurrection of Jesus! It changed timid people like Peter, James, John and Paul into fearless men and including many unnamed Christian women too, who dared to defy the fear of death when they were confronted by the option of denying Jesus their Lord and Savior or follow the emperor worship of Nero and the earthly rulers during their lives and times. Many willingly died for their faith and many counted with joys to be chosen, and that is BTW so different from the terrorists who killed people, commit hara kari and threaten the world peace with terror. To those who believes.. May God bless you all, and to our still yet unbelieving friends May you enjoy the long weekend holidays and stay sober: don't drink and drive!: Terri talk 01:12, October 8,2005 (UTC) 08:15, 13 April 2006 (SGT)
The Christian message is a message of hope and blessings towards all people with goodwill plus abundant life both now and forever unto eternity..

[edit] What is this about??

Image:PhpleozV1.jpgThe Speaker Corner had a stranger to speak, and he had his speech prepared but hardly anyone turn out to hear him, however, he wanted to get involved in Politics with Chiam See Tong..sorry he didn't turn up. It shows people still can afford the $13,500 dollars deposit Lor! The electorate commission is under-estimating the pockets of anyone who wanna come into politics and serve the people! That is why we need to open up all the GRCs and made them into single SMCs so that we all can vote.Lah! After all vote is mandatory and it is secret.. so it's very serious with the need to get all involved not just a few in those contested areas. Even GRC can be slotted into different separated single units such as one MP elected can be joining the rest<PAP with PAP, independents with others to form a new GRC grouping after the election to ran a new town council ! Why not Lah?3

So.. when is a leak not a leak?.. of course, it's NOT a leak when the President of USA is doing it himself!! 4

..The government’s view is that people can have diverse views, but should not hide behind the anonymity of the internet, to manipulate public opinion. - CNA/ch

Frankly, I don’t understand two things. The first, this “anonymity of the Internet”; the second, anonymity leading to manipulation of public opinion, utter chaos or whatever.

Besides, the garmen stated in fact they <garmen> started campaigning from day One after the election, and normal citizens <other people> are prohibited from the real enjoyment of some lively political talk? It does not takes the so smart garmen to miss this! Link to 5

He had a 57 percentage in the votes counted.

Someone suggested he is a politicl victim of Singapore too!!

[edit] Malaysia Levy on cars

KUALA LUMPUR : The Malaysian government's proposal to tax foreign-registered vehicles entering the country has prompted strong reactions from business and tourism officials who say it will hurt the economy. The 20 ringgit (Sing $9) fee for foreign vehicles entering Malaysia is part of moves the government is mulling to compensate for losses incurred when Singaporeans and Thais drive over the border to fill up on subsidised petrol. Fuel prices are rising in Malaysia but at about 1.90 ringgit (51 US cents) per litre for petrol and 1.58 ringgit (43 US cents) for diesel, they are still low compared to the rest of the region.

Those comments that people in Singapore are apolitical are somewhat mild... perhaps it is more pathetic ! It is definitely a more appropriate word to qualify the people of Singapore...

In the 60s even the coffee shop non literate Chinese Tamil, Indian or Malay person<uneducated talkers> who comes daily for their talks and chats among common patrons would totally disbelieve that such an apathetic situation ever could exist in their beloved Island in the sun. How did it come about<happened?>? Of course, through years of political tweakings by the garmen to get people off the hot topic they don't want it to discuss in their little Island in the sun. They should be working not talking..!

Imagine our super smart ex- Prime Minister Goh suggested that if we want to have differing opinions, just get the new P.M. to take off the whip,<so the new MPs can freely talk..> and so U elect and vote for who? PAP LOr!..this is a good way to have differing opinions among PAP Loh!!!!hehhehehehehehheheh! It's pathetic that the old PM believe we are all taht stupid! Or is he telling us how clever that idea is ..eh? I'm all ears!!!!!

I just wonder how much of propaganda is given to the ruling lightning compared with a little window of opportunity for left winger<opposition so called> politicans who are dying to speak out at NUS forum...Is it fair for those media like channelnewsasia, the Strait Times and all those papers with so little opposition news except those selected bad news for them.. heheheheheheh, isn't it pathetic too!: Alien talk 07:21, 30 March 2006 (SGT)

[edit] Who dared have to go to jail

 1. REDIRECT
 • What is the cost of speaking the truth in a public place like the Court of Singapore?

For Dr.Chee Soon Juan previous lecturer at NUS, it cost him a one day jail & fine of Sing$6,000. He already had several court cases unsettled since the ruling Garmen party insisted upon taking people to court for their political stands, beliefs or outspokenness. Is Dr. Chee a crazy man or just plain stubborn? The question and issue is certainly not a joking <but serious> one since there had no fairness in treatment of opposition parties or their members by the ruling garmen <lightning> in Singapore especially after election.

For its record it had put men and women under detention with even a fair trial and sued others <e.g. Mr. J. B. Jeyaretnam> and others into bankruptcy and confiscation of properties and countless untold and unfair sufferings. How can we the good thinking Singaporeans allow such things to continue to happen? [edit] Japan is out of the woods

The Bank of Japan on Thursday ditched a five-year policy that has kept domestic borrowing costs next to nothing, marking a historic milestone in the country's economic comeback and joining a global trend away from easy money.

The decision by the central bank, widely anticipated and watched closely around the world, indicates that the world's second-largest economy has finally defeated the cycle of tumbling prices that has shackled growth for years.

Stock markets around the world rallied on the news, which relieved weeks of uncertainty and boosted confidence in the Japanese economy.

[edit] Coffee and genes

CHICAGO—Here's a real caffeine jolt — coffee drinkers with a common genetic trait that makes caffeine linger in their bodies may be at risk for heart attacks, a study suggests.

Research on more than 4,000 people in Costa Rica found that about half had the trait and were considered "slow caffeine metabolizers." The other half had the opposite trait, which caused their bodies to rapidly break down caffeine, and coffee drinking in this group appeared to reduce heart attack risks.10

[edit] Election 2006 newsbreaks

Action always speak louder than mere words. Our society generally assumed too much when our politicians talk lots, but do little to improve the daily lives of our poor people. Look at the queues for the giveaways every year when the GARMEN announced the release of those goodies on just before New Year, don't we have the most independent poors here in Singapore? They lived independently of the Singapore Govt. until the end of the year! What we want are for jobs comparable with our expectations, but I guess they don't exist anymore for those who are a bit choosey! [edit] Aljunied GRCs big change?

A change in the People's Action Party<lightning> line-up of faces for Aljunied GRC may take place in the next General Election.

The recent electoral boundaries report showed that Mrs Lim Hwee Hua's Serangoon ward has moved from Marine Parade GRC to Aljunied GRC.

Considering the change, Madam Cynthia Phua was asked if she would continue as MP in the 5-member Aljunied GRC.

Madam Phua said she had spoken to her grassroots leaders about it.

"Two days ago, I discussed this issue with the grassroots leaders. Among the six of us, one person must go. We must be mentally prepared. I hope to stay here but I leave it to the party leadership to decide," she told reporters at a skills training event to teach hawkers about good service.

Madam Phua said Mrs Lim would be welcomed if she was fielded in Aljunied, as her performance is good.

But Madam Phua added that it was also possible someone new could be fielded.

As for the opposition, the Workers' Party, team led by its Chairman Sylvia Lim, is expected to contest in Aljunied GRC. - CNA/ir

[edit] Tweaking and fine tune-ing

Tweaking means 1. To pinch, pluck, or twist sharply.
2. To adjust; fine-tune.
3. To make fun of; tease.

nouns form 1. A sharp, twisting pinch.
2. A teasing remark or action; a joke.
[Probably variant of dialectal twick, from Middle English twikken, from Old English twiccian))

 • Locally I refers it to Garmen fine tuning or manipulations<of population growth, all citizens etc> all year round irregardless of election year of not!

2006 is an election years..

 • I believe a good government is to govern the people for the people and ultimately its our own people doing the ruling for the interests of all Singaporeans.
 • The growing political power of the Garmen seemed to be a form of pragmatic pyschological brain washing which I call tweaking the minds and hearts of the people with a twofold Skinner pyschology not unlike the treatments of animals e.g. dogs as in Parlov experiment..we are not animals !

[edit] Pragmatic view of power

Samuel Gompers’ often paraphrased maxim,
"Reward your friends and punish your enemies,"
hints at two of the five types of power recognized by social psychologists: incentive power (the power to reward) and coercive power (the power to punish).
Arguably the other three grow out of these two.

Legitimate power, the power of the policeman or the referee, is the power given to an individual by a recognized authority to enforce standards of behavior. Legitimate power is similar to coercive power in that unacceptable behavior is punished by fine or penalty. Some political ideologies, notably anarchism, deny the existence of legitimate power. Anarcho-capitalists give legitimate power to property owners and private arbitrators but do not grant it to the coercive state.

Referent power is bestowed upon individuals by virtue of accomplishment or attitude. Fulfillment of the desire to feel similar to a celebrity or a hero is the reward for obedience.

Expert power springs from education or experience. Following the lead of an experienced coach is often rewarded with success. Expert power is conditional to the circumstances. A brain surgeon is no help when your pipes are leaking.

[edit] Political tweakings and awakenings in many walks of life

trying to make sense

 • It does not make sense: when a graduate degree holder tried to apply for a certain job as an officer or executive in the Garmen Department and needed to be politically vetted! When the identities and particulars of bother parents, siblings etc are screened and vetted by people of the Garmen <ruling political party> which has a veto on all applicants even though they had been suitable selected and short listed!
 • It does not never made sense when it is illegal to qualify a person's job prospect by race, religion or such prejudices in matters of job prospects, flats allocations, and such which would not be cases of other comparative democratic governments of other greater Countries.
 • It does not make sense when people from China, India and elsewhere where non-Singaporeans are admitted to citizenship but local PRs who applied for citizenship are vetted by the Presidential committee and sometimes rejected by a small insignificant reason although the PR maybe well be a Singaporean who know Singapore better than any of those new applicants from other Countries! She may be a tax payer and given births to many children who are Singaporeans by birth! Why? I don't really know that well, Lor..

See Alien mothers

 • It does not make sense when jobs and goodies goes to supporters of the ruling party for preferential treatment such as for HDB flats allocation and jobs, business licenses etc.. They just jump the queue when everyone had to wait for years < history>!

Conclusion: I call it discrimination of the type relating to social engineering by incentive rewards and coercive punishments!

It used to be if you are a rich businessman < an alien or foreigner> if you put in a certain amount of money you automatically get selected to be citizen, however that rule has been changed, now it is your political loyalty to the ruling PAP! They had it<labeled> as core values
All such tweakings would never be unchallenged if and when we have a stronger voice to speak out for the people < for all Singaporeans> not just allowing those just back backbenchers< to sit as representatives of the people! > under the Garmen whip! We need a stronger Voice for helping those who wanted to get into parliament and speak for the people of Singapore!]]!: alien talk 01:12, October 8,2005 (UTC) 19:50, 15 February 2006 (SGT)
Discrimination by wealth in of another Countries? : In Malaysia when someone <wanting to reside in M'sia> put US$75,000 in the local M'sia bank for a year, then I heard they allow that foreigner to take out that money <after one year> to purchase a property and will therefore be given a residential status for residing in Malaysia not a bad idea for Singaporeans to chobok!
Discrimination by race in of another Countries? : In old Europe Jewish and Jews are money changers and they don't work for a living! Get rid of them all! During the WW 2 they <Nazi> killed them and burnt their bodies into ashes, so the Jews had to have <found> a new homeland, and founded Israel...isn't this part of our world's history?

(Sunday) Believe to see? Is faith blind?

Today is a wonderful day. In fact, every day and every moment is precious if you reckoned it is. Would someone who is very sick, and about to die, consider life as boring? If you in the next month or maybe the next few days <you know> you are going to die, would you think that those last few days of your life as boring?

Do you see and understand what I meant, it is has to do with the mind. If you believed that, you have a wonderful future ahead <who doesn't? > You will work toward achieving that ambition of yours. You see: do you really see? I meant yes you may see to believe in your mind You may have not even see the vision inside! However with all your time and energy. you hope to believe and see that your future of yours - down the road will be a happy one. Therefore, you work towards that end. Would you call that "blind faith"
So you see you may have pursue your life's goals < in education > with a blind faith!
No, no! Never! You wouldn't think like that, because that is exactly how you’ve spend your thousands of dollars paying for all those courses in the NUS or some oversea universities. Besides, you have not considered other options for failures! I know all of you here are likely <to be> like that! Moreover, you're not that sick person I mentioned, but healthy and with great future! God has blessed you richly but I won’t envy you good self. Have a prosperous and happy life! However, the true point is this: "Have you made your days count for your real future life?"
Never would I believed want to believe only in the outward rituals or the religions when I was a young man, <now I am sixty> and I have not change much in that sense of being superstitious or pseudo-religious! The last time I spoke in a church was about over 20 years ago, I wanted to seriously rebuke them for all the outward forms of Christianity but lacking in the inward life of the spirit of true faith. Therefore, I blatantly say to them
" If you are not born again, you are a bastard! " I don't know who was offended <the whole church was so silent!!I did not I could hear if a small pin would drop> So my Chinese translator during that bi-lingual service refused to translate that word " bastard"
So after I came down from that pulpit and I never had wanted to preach another sermon again. I had just done that over the last 20 years!

Maybe I should never have used that word, maybe I was wrong, or maybe I was being a poor preacher without much preparation on my part.. Much later, I meant years after that incident in that church God also show me what happened to that church years after we left. Many years later < I speak not to justify my words or actions> I remembered I visited that church to join them in their Lord's supper or holy communion, and strangely<waht I saw> that group of believers had to address their doctors as doctor so and so, and I believed that Pastor as "Reverend or Pastor" _ I am guessing, and when they celebrated the Lord supper once a month, the Pastor had to wear a three piece suit < mind you this is not in cold Canada or the United States where all of them wear three piece suits but here in Southeast Asia where the temperatures is always hovering above 30 degrees Celsius!> Plus all those who serve at the Lord's table too, had to wear suits, ties and all that religious outward show..and so they really look good and smart!

Yes I won't survive with that three piece outfit for ten minutes! I wonder too, how the poor preacher could afford to send his three pieces uniform every month for the laundry service; they must have paid him a special allowance for that! However, my point is this: This old church have all the outwards appearance of a posh church and probably they all still are <God bless them richly, amen> since they all drive big cars to church. However, I heard many stories of many poor brethren had left that old church when they cannot stand to address their brethren as doctors and their Pastor as reverend! < It’s compulsory in that church>. So if you a non believer going to visit that Church for the first time, would you see those representatives of so-called Christianity as "western” and "all looking good on the outside". I meant if you are a poor man making a few dollars a day and maybe hardly a few hundred a month to provide for your family, would you dream of going to be a Christian in that church?

Now I want to show you another example of another situation that is not too far from your place. It is upon a small hill called Canada Hill somewhere in Miri, Sarawak. In the early 70s I went to visit that small group of young people as another Singapore visitor or a Christian believer< not with any propose to preach>, I was just there because every month I had to leave the place or Country called Brunei since I could only stay for a month at a time.

My passport was from Singapore, an alien Country so I needed the visa stamp every month! Miri happened to be a nice place where I would drive down to visit and stay. The first time I went up to that place I meet some brothers in the same faith. I told them and they invited me to stay in their small church building. Among all the young people, we have many wonderful times together.

Today that little church on that hill had multiplied many times all over Sarawak and even have a branch here in JB. <Johor Baru> It had grown simply because there was nothing much on the outside but what they had, they simply believed and shared from their hearts <the inside> and God had blessed them richly too, not just with wealth alone, but numbers !> after so many years I saw how they have grown <from a few> to become thousands with many new non believers. Many had believed and came to join them as members as new Christians.

They had little or no much on the outward to show, but what inside them <Christian hospitality and love> they had been enough for them to become a beacon shinning on that hill for the true faith of Christianity. If you ever go to visit Miri, look up and you always will see that church on the hill, go and see!

Is faith blind? I think not, a Church with vision is never blind. The people there can see.

To you who see to believe:
What is your vision like, Is it 20/20 for Jesus? There are many people in this confused world with faulty vison, your church can help to focus on the real meaning for living. Maybe your life speak well of the real 'Jesus who is alive <not a religion> in your life and outward practice, can people see that "inside" belief of yours clearly?

For only one life will soon be past
Only what's done for Christ will lasts
Believe to see

Sharing is a part of us that must never let it die. Here is a brief from NKF findings: <: Terri talk 01:12, October 8,2005 (UTC) 11:01, 20 December 2005 (SGT)>

The findings by KPMG are startling, from revelations that only 10 cents of every charity dollar went to subsidise patients' direct treatment costs, to wasted opportunities by regulators to commence investigations earlier.

[edit] Follow the Chinese drink tea

Inform women who ask that drinking green or black tea has been found in this study to be associated with a reduced risk of ovarian cancer, with every cup consumed found to offer more protection. Point out that as in any observational study the possibility that the findings are explained by uncontrolled or residual confounding cannot be completely excluded. 29 Tea for Chinese~

tea bowl for drinking tea

According to Chinese tradition, the original cup of tea was not invented but discovered in the course of daily affairs by the simple inhabitants in the hills of Min-nan, who found out the secret of preserving the essence of the green tea leaves. It was rolled and dried and good for keeping until when needed.

In modern China, virtually every dwelling--down to the simplest mud huts--has a set of tea implements for brewing a hot cup of tea. These implements are symbols of welcome for visitors or neighbors.

Traditionally, a visitor to a Chinese home will be expected to sit down and drink tea while talking; the Chinese consider having such visits while standing to be uncouth

I call it the root cause of our 5000 years old culture. Actually it's only a drink, ie. I drink hot tea, cup after cups of it without any problem.

"Far deeper than the formal trends of common values in Chinese culture is found with simple plant known as tea. It is an essence discovered by the simple farmers while trying to enhance their tasteless water. Tea is found all over scattered in the many parts of China. Without tea, there will not be any real roots to the real cause of the Chinese culture."

Wolfberry: cheap alternative to ginseng...2

Image:20100628.174711 20100628-wolfberries.jpg... There is a cheap alternative to precious Chinese herbs ginseng and lingzhi mushroom, and it is widely available in supermarkets around the Sultanate of Brunei.... The good news for Bruneians, however, is that wolfberry is ranked a close third behind these two herbs when it comes to content in germanium, and is relatively cheap in supermarkets at a few dollars per packet, and it can even be eaten directly without being cooked..According to Dr Sun, germanium is supposed to "clean" the blood and prevent blood clotting in the vessels, and will also help with metabolism to keep the body healthy. It also has an effect of bringing 10 times more oxygen to the blood cells to help with clearing body toxins, and slowing the ageing process. "If our blood cells lack oxygen, it can cause abnormal metabolism, resulting in excessive fatty acid. The abnormal metabolism can also cause pathological changes, which is also closely related to the formation of cancerous cells in the body," said Dr Sun. "The most important feature of germanium is its ability to induce the body cells to produce "interferon" which can regulate the immune system to fight against the virus and cancerous cells." -The Brunei Times/Asia News Network

Image:100112011604705.jpg Why is Avatar so popular in China? Landing in mainland of China on January 4, James Cameron’s Avatar has received high praise from Chinese movie fans, critics and filmmakers. Just five days after its opening, the box office receipts have exceeded 26 million yuan across China. At the same time, the tickets price have skyrocketed. The ticket price already is at 200 yuan in Shanghai, and selling for 430 yuan in Dongguan, Guangdong province.

Although the ticket prices are very high, some Chinese audience have been said to travel between cities find an IMAX cinema to watch Avatar. In Shanghai, a mom waited for a whole night at the cinema to buy a ticket for his son. Some people even joked that it was harder to buy a Avatar ticket than a train ticket during the Spring Festival transport period.

It is said that the ticket price for an IMAX Avatar ticket has been raised to 800 yuan. An English blog owner wrote that the Avatar ticket in China is the most expensive in the world. Are Chinese movie fans crazy?

The movie fans waiting outside the cinema to buy the tickets for Avatar.

(the reason is because : most Chinese enjoy it (movies always great to watch!), and such great movie give an idea about what the outsiders think about the Chinese and their culture as unknown until someone tried to understand and appreciate it from within.LOR.hehehe

Give and Take

 • In a rich society like Singapore, it is a shame we have so many have-nots and poor people compared to any comparative wealthy societies elsewhere! However, the Garmen is responding to such needs in a way during this election year. The budget should be able to tell what the Garmen are planning to do. I hope it is not just one hand to give and the other to take away as in GST rebates.

Canadian Election on 23 January 2006 with the new Conservative with a 122 31 minority Government.. The Times January 25, 2006 Right wing storms back after years in wilderness By Tom Baldwin Conservatives rise from two seats to be the biggest party CANADA’S first right-wing Prime Minister in 13 years took office yesterday promising to clean up government and repair his country’s strained relations with the United States. Stephen Harper’s Conservative Party won 124 of the 308 seats in the Canadian Parliament in Monday’s bitterly contested elections, compared with 103 for Paul Martin’s Liberals.

Politics is not exactly my personal cup of tea, I prefer coffee. it is not strong but more everlasting when eventually one enter into the kingdom of peace. However, those who enter it<politics> are usually in the right wing Politics, and usually by invitation to the Party. Left wingers do not fly well in Singapore and they usually fall by their numbers no matter how well articulate they were on the Public stand and whatever issues they raised. To even enter the arena one has to have some means and the courage to fight it out to the end. I admire some politicians who could stick and be steadfast in their public service and calling. It is no small matter to discuss this topic but I must warn those who are faint hearted not to ever challenge the Lion in the arena of death. Even to have a chance to fight one has to be a willing tiger ready to be slaughtered on the altar of public good. Fear is not necessary good, but it keep the tame goose and other wild life away. Only the daring donkeys tried and are eaten up!

One can apply for any jobs in Singapore, and the recruitment office welcome all, and if yours is a degree , a job is always waiting for you. Politics is a calling, not a job. It is a service to your people and Country.

The late J.F.Kenndy said it well; "think not what you can get, but what you can give to your Country!"

 • If you are just courageous, you don't qualify, you will need to be well educated and articulate, know what wisdom is, for the running of public offices. Most Singaporeans even when adequately qualified, choose not to. Common sense forbids! But what Singapore need is not money or more money, but a good opposition to parley with the dominant one party system, and I think it is time for people to step into the arena in the next election to help and consolidate the effort of those who dared and had much to lose.

Our democratic right to vote is at stake and about to die out completely! GRCs and walkovers are our lessons, Do we wanna allow PAP to take away that right too! They tried but still trying to..take your right to VOTE! Abolishing the Jury is history! We don’t need a one party legacy no matter how rich and wealthy our little Island had become, it is just the feeling of healthy and freedom to stretch and dream, so I dream…. of Tigers: Tiger! tiger! burning blight in the forests of the night, and the night is closing in on all of us!

[edit] Podcasting is illegal and Internet blogging is questionable??

What is this podcasting? i never done it before, please: Alien talk anyone tell me? During election period, all Singaporeans are to behave well. No political talking, no bloggings and no podcastings : all amount of <legal or illegal> activities as determined by the highly rated Minister for communications. Ninety per cent of people who blogs and talks are on the Internet are potential offenders, and I, myself is an active blogger and writer of no importance. If the Garmen wanted to use a sledge hammer to kill a small fly, do so., I am not running to overseas, and if I get the honour to go to answer charges at the AMK Police station, I hope and will feel happy to be so honoured as a true Singaporean who dared to challenge that stupid outmoded PAP rule of censorship and call it " election law" . I will speak what I feel is reasonable within the confinement of conscience before God, and if the rule say I pay by going to court and spend some jail time, so be it : Alien talk 22:45, 5 April 2006 (SGT)

My friends we are all entitled to free opinions, and to express it even if the PAP say NO. no! NOT allowed..!!!22:45, 5 April 2006 (SGT) I shall here be bounded by such reasonable laws within the freedom of that God- given facility called mind and conscience...

If lightning wishes to flex its muscle and send us all to confinement then waht can we do, protests? fight back? Of course no such things, the compliant public are all powerless in Singapore, unless they start to arouse the sleeping giant in the people POWER!! ..However, I still believe in the freedom of the mind and expression. The garmen decided that ‘’podcasting’’ is illegal during election period, though blogging <on Internet>is not altogether disallowed - so long the person is ‘’’registered with the authority!’’’

So with one stroke they decide it’s the rule, and that seemed to be the system at work nowadays in Singapore - Our fine Country ran by Pay and pay. Challenging it means going to be called up by the Police and then possibly to court, if by any account is against you, you may be charged in court by such offence as defined by the garmen. It <jail and fines> would be a reality too? Where do you find such treatments anywhere where people can vote for their own garmen in fair election, then the results <and winners are declared openly> and losers would be running away, since it's jail for daring to challenge the lions?

I have seen many persecuted for their political stand or talk. It's pathetic! So many decide never to jump into that arena of death without preparations, others just chicken out.. I hope to see the day when our people would not fear or be threatened by such unfair laws. I used to think election is for politicians, but it’s no more, it’s including all Singaporeans whether you may want it or not! The day may come when you may be reported for talking against the garmen too!

In Singapore even Mr. Lee Kuan Yew also affirmed there is no level playing field for opposition or left wing politicians: So they <garmen> made the rules and decides whenever it fitted their fancies to change it.. This is the kind of high-handed minds of the garmen. The people: their rights? Forgotten lah!
Thus they accused their political opponents of “without talented people to serve”. Why should we suffered such intimidations and threats<? >, Perhaps if you are talented and feel worthy enough to be called to serve your Country, please read my article on Tiger and join those worthy people to serve the Country by standing for the 2006 general <snap> election. If the garmen can field 24 young adult people <with talents?> among Singaporeans. I don’t see why others who are just as capable cannot step out to serve the Country.
The underlying reason is “fear” and who want to be thrown into the arena sacrificing all that they have?
I watched MM Lee on TV and was impressed by his demeanor and artistic mellowed & rationale explanations and then I asked myself: why cannot someone like him think in terms of eternity? And I marvel at the wisdom of the world without God, they have to be that <determined or> ruthless to be winners just like the fittest survive in this jungle of wild animals
I also was thinking :

here was a friendly old gentleman, and this ruthless old grandfather was capable of, and he had kept his political opponents like Lim Chin Siong and many others in jail because he had too, as a matters of disallowing any chances of being beaten by them, so he did ! Here too, was this ruthless man, and has he changed his methods or his policies to this day ? no, No.. NO! I wonder any of those young adults know about that past when he kept people under Operation Cold store in the 60s and all through 70s...? Yet again in 1987 when he dealt with the so call Marxists?

The question is: would any Singaporeans perferred to be treated just as animals without such or any human dignity?
Goto see foolishness of God… : Terri talk 01:12, October 8,2005 (UTC) 06:03, 6 April 2006 (SGT) And I have a terrible obligation towards God first before any garmen...

 • Has anyone heard of the landless peasants in Singapore ?

 • Read on: The lingering question among Singaporeans was "the clearing up the slums of the 1960s and resettling squatters into low-cost government-built housing". The policy of the Garmen to resettle masses of people into HDB flats > Originally such flats were built for those purposes however, that too, became an explosive exploitation of the people who had to pay huge prices for their homes! They were built not just to re-settle homeless or landless people, but for sheer profits!. At first it seemed to be justifiable as land use without exploitation as in view of the general communal good, however, when it comes to later acquisition was made compulsory to include all homes and shop houses on the Island, the issue had became an open question. Such strong hand tactics by implementation of acquisition laws as were never debated satisfactory or sufficiently to ease many minds of many people since the Politics was a one-way party with law making and law empowering abilities. However, land exploitation was to continue as a means to generate revenues when land prices skyrocketed, and the only beneficiaries were large landowners, banks and the biggest landowner, which is the Garmen. Conflicts between the greedy landowners and the garmen were often the undercurrent reason when animosities with the garmen were to be expected. Hong Leong was sidelined many times because it was one of the many involved in the conflict. The ordinary people lost homes, land and shop houses under the Acts and amendments of the Parliamentary legislative exploitation of the people and the land consistently since there was hardly any opposition to be a check and balance in the society. goto read about Exploitation!: Alien talk 20:05, 27 February 2006 (SGT)

[edit] A Note to the Wise

N.B.* A Political Person is one who can resonate with the people, it takes a political will to put things in place and plans in Action. But any actions here need a steady political Will. Will there be any strong political will of our leaders in the near future. The Country wealth and Prestige is never going to last unless there is morally strong political leadership in our Country. see King Solomon & burden !

The contest for the Yio Chu Kang single member ward is expected to be between two former journalists.

PAP's Mr Seng has known the National Solidarity Party's Yip Yew Weng for nearly five years in the course of their work.

Said Mr Seng, "I welcome Mr Yip Yew Weng coming to Yio Chu Kang. Yio Chu Kang residents will make the right choice. They will compare what we have done not only in Yio Chu Kang but the whole of Ang Mo Kio. In the last ten years we have transformed Ang Mo Kio into a newer Ang Mo Kio and we have refreshed Ang Mo Kio ... Residents know us well and I look forward to what Mr Yip will put forward in his master plan for the betterment of the Ang Mo Kio residents."

In past general elections, opposition parties have always used a by-election strategy, telling Singaporeans there was no harm voting more of them in, since the PAP is already back in power on Nomination Day.

This time, it is left to be seen if the opposition parties plan to block the PAP from forming government on Nomination Day by contesting in as many seats as possible. - CNA /ct

[edit] Incense smoke causes cancer

Image:1467409 incense300.jpg
Incense burning a serious cause to be concerned in temples and homes.

Exhaust from motor vehicles affecting our air and environment.
.>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

In Taiwan health authorities are concerned by the high concentration of toxic chemical produced by incense burning in the temples. see 50 and a Dr. Lin and his teams of researchers collected sample of air inside temple and compared with pollution at traffic places <inter-section> and found the air is 19 times more polluted with polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs), a large group of highly carcinogenic chemicals that are released when certain substances are burnt. This is a likely cause of cancer, which many researchers have yet failed <reluctance> to identify due to religious implications.

see Cancer
see article of red wine for prevention of cancer

N.B.(In Singapore most HDB homes are poorly ventilated with sealed windows and closed doors and under such environment there is no doubt a lot of cases of passive smokers in homes are exposed to incense and toxic smoke. Why are there so many cases of non smoker cancers? A smoker or not all stand a likely chance to get cancer when all the environmental and personal immunity factors come into play. All it take is for a small infinitely minute atomic electron to jump the quantum leap and start the ball rolling for cancer! Just as a smoker may say: I smoke for years since a boy and I am okay. Maybe for the lucky smokers, but the statistics seems more evident than a few cases of smokers still alive and healthy!): Terri talk 01:12, October 8,2005 (UTC) 09:06, 3 March 2006 (SGT)

[edit] The Great brain draining out in words

 • Even God has a manifesto to show ! see what Jesus said about God as his heavenly Father to prove..
The created Universe from In the beginning God...( Genesis 1:1)
When the disciples all asked Jesus to show the Father, he said: If you have seen Me , your have seen the Father <in Me, his character> see John 14: verses 8 to 21 see also John 14:22. John ch. 14 in NKJV
 • What is a manifesto? The word manifest means to show, and every ship Captain should know what it is <?>: a manifest is a current document showing what goods are declared and carried on board. Even a family can have one to show<goto see father>.

It is to show what a real value of a family such as the belief or philosophy of the Father< or parents> and what the family stand for in this real world.

[edit] The Great Walkover

What kind of Government in a small Country <of four millions> where the road to political freedom to vote is often curtailed by the rulers? Democracy, or Meritocracy or whatever the majority of the people just miss every chance to vote at every election. They are all dying to vote but could never have the chance to vote. There are so many walkovers. The simple answer to tear up the GRCs <Group representative Constituencies> ! GRCs really smell like yak, that has been, in any case was a PAP Garmen move to allow the original electorate districts manipulated into GRCs with the simple excuse the minority are not represented..So now PAP nominated candidates are representing who? The GRCs walkover constituencies! Mind you, great thinkers, they certainly don't represent anyone but Nominated PAP in their own primary election! What is laughable is that such gerrymandering so-called in larger and old democracies is strictly forbidden, but in a quiet corner in this great Country the people had quietly condescended to allow the whole system to be foolhardily corrupted into unprecedented great walkover ! Singapore can never again be what a free Country as a freeborn Nation with a free born people. Today we are jailed in an ironclad MERITOCRACY found now..here on planet earth!
goto read more on meritocracy!

In case some of our poor people who are still waiting for news of election goodies, I am afraid the Chinese New Year is is just to smile and say cheese.. There is none leftovers, all are already given away by most MPs of those GRCs and there won't be any cash release until next Chinese New Year! The 4D and Toto places also had given over all angpows or haven't they done so? Well the Lunar New Year is just a few more days away.. Hurrah, we can survive with or without cash giveaways: make your angpows smaller in old two dollars notes!

[edit] Have your been hearing about myths

time Bombs
time Bombs

For years and years the newspapers have told us that the Garmen had said this and that. Therefore it’s for the good of the public, it's your security, men! So some old ghosts threaten us in the olden days of the kampongs are still prowling the streets and HDB of Singapore! We are really your Papas<don't be afraid>and we will protect you as we alway will love you. Yet behind all the manipulations were stories so cleverly created to inculcate such primordial fears with individual hearts swaying the whole population to conform with the image of the ideal Singaporean citizen : especially those whose obedience and following is to be commendable, they are going to appear in the S.T. papers! A great Singaporean citizen - So and so..! I hope to get selected someday as the ideal citizen too!

I think the best idea is get another white elephant to display for the good of safeguarding the GIC belonging to the Garmen. Yea,isn't already always safe in the pocket of the Garmen? So what can be better the idea of the age-old president do<?> if the actual political rulers say.." we will spend a few billions away? ". I think it is just a good ploy to keep away <the opposition to get into power?> the other opposing side parties <those who well meaning good intentioned people who dare sacrifice their money, time and at the risk of personal liberties to speak out and tell the truth about Garmen myths and exaggerations about the four time bombs>. Time bombs!!! < are they not scary enough, ugh!

So lt's me telling<again> some scary old kampong ghost stories:

Once upon a time there lived the Ah Mah ghosts at Jalan Tua Peh Kong, they used to stir upon the old Chinese people with hatred and so on .. Nowadays the Garmen capitalized on the fact that they successfully caged all rebellious spirits into all the ghost flats and sent them into cagey cages where they used the trick of divide and rule peaceably.
Then we have so many people<population explosions, they cried!> so we have to control them two is enough! Nowadays they said to confused modern updated mothers “no” give us three or more to re-populate the HDB empty flats! In order to encourage the obedient people to follow: the policy of the garmen will be to have many more benefits and goodies for the mothers who are doing it for the national service! Just as today silently and obediently they all learnt to queue up for the goodies like the the Toto and the 4D bets so ‘’singaporely’’ done!57 All the obedient mothers are likely to follow too! Tell about more new things like casinos and integrated resorts too! Don't forget! men
Therefore, someone so cleverly conceived and introduced the white elephant office of the highest good for the nation – just another safeguard for the old Chief to handle in case everything went to the opposition’s by default!

BTW , the opposition is also a clever myth to tell the people that these wild tigers< a dying species, mind you> are there: beware they bring ruins to the national policies! The investors will fly to safe havens and so on.. So these belater birds are going to fly and do more outsourcing to Africa, India and China..mind, mind so scary lor! It's a time bomb, wau lau! I meant also to say.. India, China and Africa are so much safer!

Just I believe no power is going to anyone except the old faithful who kept the reins of the garmen in healthy and clean old hands!

However, I note among healthy political democracies the world over there are always the left and the right honourable but never the honourable opposition !> Yet the honored opposition had done to function as a far better check than any office created so far by the Garmen! They help maintain a balance and check upon power abuses among politicians. They had open up many of those cans of worms crawling within the corrupting powers and abuses: telling the garmen to beware, we are watching them too! Why do we need another White elephant office? Just for ceremonial purposes I guess, beyond that is beyond the control of the high office.

I remember the days when Hokkien , Malay and other dialects were used by the common people but now we completely lost our roots and our kampong spirits : I mean it is scary to hear one speak in a dialect, that’s opposition to Garmen policies, you know and can bring you to jail! Finally now that we all obediently speak only English, our Mother tongue<irregardless of our races>, and Mandarin our <foreign adopted>official language, therefore we have to tell them never to go back to dialects again, it's is another time bomb! eh!

Just you miss all the scary time bombs concocted by opposition WPs please got read them again and see for yourself in the Sunday’s papers! Hehehehehehe!58

[edit] Goodies for needy elderly

When I was on my bicycle rides and passing a HDB block in AMK. I noticed a lot of elderly people and some handicap persons meeting under the HDB block to register for helps from the social welfare <as I understand from some people> I really sometimes wish our Garmen could do better than just token supporting them, they need help all year round and I wonder where are those social people <when I myself had brought groceries and helps to support some people in the same area> at most times.

We don't even have much, but are glad to give and share. If that's the case with our rich Garmen yearly surplus <without even touching their hoard in the GIC,> there won't be needy person gathered there today! One elderly lady told me this: I always voted for lightning<PAP> and it was so embarrassing to go there<for such helps>, I ready don't need that kind of money, voting is my special privilege too, and what I vote is mine to do so"
BTW, She used to come to my flat to collect our old newspapers and she <at 90 plus> still had her pride and understand what voting is all about.. it is not about the goodies, but our right. Never sell your birthright or your citizenship right to vote!

Sgwiki is reporting to the garmen and let them have waht we wanna said..in their report cards!

Definitely there so many things that the Garmen can do to gain confidence than just getting heated up during the pre-election fever! There are so many things that we<as Singaporeans> wanted to know in spite of the esteem standards of boasting transparency by Garmen. It's not just the financial health but other issues too, like matters of safeguards and fulfiling the values and aspirations of the Singaporeans, not just selected Garmen issues!

Perhaps like the Australian Garmen they should have a quarterly report card in which the responses of the people can be meaured like as in Australia goto see61

The previlege of the Agong <King> has much to safeguard, a recent article for readers interested in Malaysia, goto read 62 about it..

Safeguarding the GIC in Spore?..only the President or the garmen can do it right? I guess we are by right born Singaporeans and each of us is worth how much according to the figures in the GIC? U may well be a millionaire according to waht is in the GIC or does GIC belong to pay and Pay only?

So our smart Aleck suggested that the Garmen should allow people to vote anyway even when there is a walkover, so for what<?>, JUST to discover whatever their votes maybe like or or the people's confidence is more or less well placed or not? Maybe, I think it's a precedent the GARMEN could take it up in next parliament, maybe for the next election..good suggestion and it 'll definitely send a new precedence in matters of voting all around the world to see how funny we've become! prepaidcards

 • What happen to these common sight prepaid cards? With the personal mobile sets and chip-set cards, these thousand of $2 and $5 cards brought by many Singaporeans seemed to have disappeared. In fact the other day I was looking for a public phone to call back home since I don't carry a hand set, i look for at least half an hour on my bicycle rounds in the vinicity of many HDB blocks, and amazingly the public phone booths don't have any old machine for these pre-cards Singapore Telecoms cards. I thought of how much of the cash we pre-paid into these convenient things like old MRT cards, phone cards etc..Which had lost its values simply because of the excuse of phone companies <that collect our monies> and did not want to honour those pre-cards by taking away all the old machines? I call it cheating.. Maybe on a unnoticed scale. By big companies and corporations on the small man on the street! However, they should allow us to exchange them for comparable usable cards at all Post Office places run by Singapore Post!
 • In Art, the view portrayal of vivid colors trying to capture the essence of the the times and the inward feelings of the artist is supreme importance. All of us are looking for hidden treasures and talents, and when one is spotted and identified as an original artist with certain skills and creativeness, the crowd come to see the artist and his or her works. Art is very subjective, what one sees as a talent another maybe seeing something else. It does not takes a real expert to figure talents where talents is shown. We all abhored certain stereotypes, and are always looking for freshness in Art. see the story of Alexandra Nechita 63

So what's wrong with the crowd at Orchard Road party or the Marine parks during the end countdown of 2005? Why are the GARMEN building so many beautiful places and few are there to really enjoy it? I think the answer is simply: Singaporeans are too busy making money and have no time for such things in life..
They have bills to pay, the servicing of debts from phone bills, the credit cards and there is just no more time to waste on such clean fun as walking around for nothing...Are Singaporeans stupid?

[edit] Our Speaker Corner

Our much respected MM Lee in his interview with young adults said that there is <or had been> no level playing field in Politics. Though I want to differ and disagree, it is obviously true in Singapore when referring to the left side <opposition> that had suffered being sidelined and marginalized in more than one ways. They had the sympathy of the people over the years: the vote for the left had been high much due to the sympathy votes, and by those who obviously abhor the high handled ways the garmen deals with losers in the Political arena with litigations and legal pursuits even after every election was over.

However, the new P.M. < Our P.M.Lee > realized the importance of resonating with the young people and the importance of winning back the grassroots rapport and support, and his ways had been different from the older administration that majored in having talented people on their team. I believed our P. M. wanted badly to be approachable and be a people's choice not by bullying them but more by logical reasoning and rapport. Yes, we all can agreed to disagree , a good growing sign that election is going to be more fairer and the left wing <opposition> given more time to prepare and to present their candidates.: Terri talk 01:12, October 8,2005 (UTC) 02:39, 18 April 2006 (SGT)

[edit] What are our core values?

It comes from our roots in history of our people whom we all can be proud. If there is one, it is our willingness to survive in spite all obstacles, all odds against us. I remembered when the days when my mother would get up early to go and work in the construction sites as a coolie to feed me and my siblings, however sometimes the Kang towkay would not be able pay her fellow coolies or she wuld be cheated time and again<!>, and with no money to bring home! Yet, we all survive! Singaporeans will always remember these people our forebears had survived and they are our heroes and heroines to recall! The true value of any Singaporean is the ability to overcome our situations and difficulties and survive well. I speak for a lot of us here!

I remembered those days when my Grandfather and grandmother spoke of the Japanese occupation: yet in spite all the bad things around them, they spoke of festival spirit and remembered those good old days to encourage us to go on living. There is a always a silver lining in the dark clouds of hard times: with three and half years of the Japanese occupation. Let's us never forget our indomitable spirit of our forbears !

Today, we have believe and see, and come to share some of the blessings of a wealthy rich and prosperous nation among so many poorer nations surround us, let us then, be thankful and by a real way be generous to share with our neighbors and remember the " fatherless " and those " in need " among our many own people, and those the " have-nots "

 • This is no other better spirit than this great spirit of generosity which we can learn to cultivate among Singaporeans for ourselves and our children's children !

I would encourage the Garmen even though I don't agree with many of their operating principles and policies, to be what we all Singaporeans really want, a nation of people living in an environment of freedom and openness with the sort of creativity spirit to flourish in our humble spirit of love and kindness with all our surrounding neighbors!

All such values can be cultivated in us when we all as a people are willing to be part of the Great Spirit whom our Creator had put is our souls for ever as long as mankind has a divine purpose and destiny here on earth!

WE will find natural loyalty and a true feelings of wanted here in our own Country, our Singapore : Terri talk 01:12, October 8,2005 (UTC) 02:11, 6 March 2006 (SGT)

Lim <Chin Siong> certainly had the respect of Lee Kuan Yew. David Marshall said, “Chin Siong was introduced to me by Lee Kuan Yew. Kuan Yew came to visit me in my little office underneath the stairs and said, “Meet the future Prime Minister of Singapore!” I looked at Lim Chin Siong and I laughed. LKY said, “Don’t laugh!” He is the finest Chinese orator in Singapore and he will be our next Prime Minister!”
