05:55 AM Mar 17, 2010..sources[[3]] A 28-year-old Malaysian man was arrested by Police within a day after he had assaulted and attempted to rob a 54-year-old woman in a lift on Monday morning. The woman had entered the lift at Blk 838 Hougang Central at about 2.25 am, together with the man who she did not know.
Before the door closed, he started to assault her and tried to grab her gold chain and handbag. But the victim put up a struggle and shouted for help, and the man fled empty-handed. The woman sustained bruises on her eye and cheek during the attack. The suspect was arrested at Pasir Panjang Road at about 4.30pm the same day. He will be charged in court today for robbery with hurt. The offense carries a maximum term of 20 years in jail and not less than 12 strokes of the cane.

In the last election 2006, the ruling Part (PAP} won. However the growing opposition had a good fight and increased their shares of supporting votes. The P.M. had a slight margin of votes (about 66.6 per cent) of expected win in the YCK-AMK GRC.

Those marginalized opposition ( 2 seats won) still are the minority though their support is around 40 per cent of the population's votes. The ruling party had used their political power to group together GRC to pull them through in spite of their poorer wins over the last two or three elections. Walkovers were common until the opposition or the left wing side is seen as an alternative to balance-off the the strong relentless power of the PAP as one party rule over our Country.

Imagine a flat with 4 rooms for a sum 250K or more depending on the area and it's only affordable via garmen rentals or lease.

When I was (yesterday) going thru the customs at Woodlands ICQ , the custom officers stopped me when they saw a set of books I brought in.
Custom Officer (a warrant officer BTW Indian person I believe) ask: What are these books?
Me: Religious books, see!
So he brought me into the office (at the Woodland check point) with my questionable books.
He checked through those Sermons by Charles Haddon Spurgeon whose books were originally printed in 1883 , & those reprints 2007). He obviously could not figure out if those old ancient books ( reprints ) are going to upset the social religious order in Spore, our little Island here!
So he said, (to his own colleages)

Challenge in our world to date: by religious militants or democracy?
Most people understand that the world we lived in today is not a peaceful place. There are suffering and wars all over except in places where the respect for law and order is still upheld. The once great super-power cannot defeat the forces that are against goodwill of humanity. Nations after nation poured in their help to those troubled areas: however those who often benefited are the warmongers and arms dealers.
What will happen as events are unfolding in the November election of U.S.A.?
Will the economy falls through and recession sets in to affect the millions upon millions the world over? Or will there be a strong Power to overturn the tide and restore democracy? There are those questions not just for readers here at Sgwiki, it is a concern for all the leaders of the world among so many nations who had enjoyed under the law and order along with the democratic style of government.
It remain our hope and earnest prayers that God may grant us peace not only for now but for our children’s children too. As we bowed down to pray in His name!
